Icon Model Management - Toronto Fashion Week 2011
This press releases gives an overview of the LG Fashion Week that took place in Toronto.
- (1888PressRelease) November 11, 2010 - Toronto - During the week of October 18th - 23rd, 2010 LG Fashion Week, the premiere fashion event organized by the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC), took place at the Heritage Court, Exhibition Place in Toronto - the fashion capital of Canada. LG Fashion Week hosted many international designers including names like: Angela Chen, Rachel Mara, and Baby Steinberg.
The simple and carefree mood intricately portrayed through Angela Chen's designs combining colors like black, white, and silver dazzled the audience. Drapery-like skirts and pants and puffed sleeves dominated the runway. The designs were inspired by Chen's perception of city life and the message she wanted to send out: looking good yet sticking to simplicity.
Since 2002, Rachel Mara has been known for her unique bold and feminine style. Her creativity alongside her inspiration by high -styled film heroines encouraged her conveyance of long shirts and dresses, and flowing blouses. Soft coral colors, pink and grey stripes, and ivory were incorporated within her prints, which reinforced her femininity.
When it comes to simplicity we cannot but think of the Brazilian designer Baby Steinberg, who startled the runway with her environmental friendly garments. The designer has put tremendous efforts in her transforming recycled materials, such as cups and pieces of wood, into fabulous gowns and astonishing curve fitting cocktail dresses. The nature oriented designs emulated colors of the four seasons: blue for spring; red and orange for summer; earth tones for autumn; and gold and copper for winter.
The hard work of the Fashion Design Council of Canada, designers, models, and modelling agencies involved, especially Icon Model Management, ensued in the inevitable success of the 2011 LG Fashion Week. Both models and managers of Icon Models found great inspiration in their participation in such an event, and are looking forward to contributing in FDCC's and the fellow designers' future upcoming events.
The FDCC is a non-governmental, non-profit organization aimed towards the global and local commercial viability of fashion designers and the industry. LG Fashion Week is the bi-annual event of the industry.
