ICCR Organizes an artistic Evening "Towards Moksha" with Arshi Ahmed

  • (1888PressRelease) May 11, 2011 - The exhibition opened today in the presence of renowned dignitaries and celebrated names from the art and theatre fraternity along with other art admirers. Mr. Suresh.K.Goel (DG,ICCR) inaugurated the exhibition and appreciated the work of the artist.

    The evening designed to showcase the talent and compassion of the artist, will witness the unveiling of 30 new exquisite paintings, where abstract art has been centralized around the theme of "Moksha". Providing a reflection on her work, Artist Arshi Ahmed said, "In the extremely competitive scenario today, it is essential to find peace and solace. Art is a healer of the soul and I hope my exhibited work will turn out to be a stress buster by providing the much needed relief."

    Along with the painting, the artist has displayed an installation art, where she has painted life size musical instruments like Guitar and drums. This installation exhibits a perfect blend between between music and colours. Through this symphony, the artist has conceptualised and organized an evocative relation between the two art forms.

    "I feel like a wanderer on the long pilgrimage of life, always searching for fulfillment. Art is the only medium which provides me the liberty to express my thirst for perfection. My feelings, fears, hopes and desires have one common destination called Art. For me Art is similar to a partner with whom I am in a relationship full of love and trust," quips Arshi.

    The artworks will be on display from April 29 - May 04, 2011, Time: 11 am - 6 pm, at Indian Council For Cultural Relations, Azad Bhawan, IP Estate, New Delhi 110002. After India, the exhibition will continue to enchant art lovers of London and other countries Worldwide.
