  • (1888PressRelease) January 08, 2011 - Ticket sales to the World Cup that began selling at eighty (80) retail outlets across Bangladesh on January 2, 2011 have seen massive success. A majority of the tickets to the twelve matches to be held in Bangladesh have already sold in the approximately 36 hours of sale time that the 150 counters have been open over the last five days. Aside from Dhaka and Chittagong, top selling districts include Khulna, Rajshahi, Nilphamari, Bhola, Golpalganj and Banderban. Of course sales have seen tremendous success across each of the sixty four (64) districts.
Phase 2 of ticket sales are being run primarily through KyaZoonga-powered MoneyGram retail outlets of City Bank and Agrani Bank spread all across the country so that locals can very easily purchase tickets to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 by paying cash over the counter.

Said a BCB spokesperson, "The Board, as a client, is extremely pleased and satisfied with the KyaZoonga ticketing system that has brought access far and wide across Bangladesh. The KyaZoonga system has digitized the entire country from a ticket selling perspective and our mission of reaching out to as many local Bangladesh cricket fans as possible in each of the 64 districts of the country has been accomplished by the system that made democratic and equitable access possible. Furthermore, the system has allowed for absolute transparency in the sale, distribution and reporting of tickets and this has helped to ensure that Bangladesh cricket is the biggest beneficiary of such an efficient and transparent system."

This unique system has ensured that the common man and cricket fan in Bangladesh has access to tickets to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 by paying cash over the counter. The system is completely centralized and automated and ensures that all available tickets are available simultaneously to every counter that is open at any given time. It dispenses the next available ticket in a given category to any customer that comes up to purchase at any counter.

Neetu Bhatia, Chairman and CEO of KyaZoonga said, "We are truly excited about democratizing the access to cricket tickets in Bangladesh down to the district level. It is our honor and privilege to be the Official Ticketing Partner to such a forward thinking and progressive cricket administration such as the BCB. MoneyGram, City Bank and Agrani Bank have come forward as solid partners in putting their vast branch network in the service of the Bangladesh people. Not only branches in Dhaka and Chittagong but also districts such as Banderban and Khagrachori are using our system. Cricket in Bangladesh is a uniquely fantastic experience and we are thrilled to be providing easy access to this experience to fans across the country."
