i-Tech and Bright House Networks will be hosting a free lunch and learn titled, "GeekIT: Safe Schools & Communities," specifically geared to those in the public sector wanting to learn about network security and grant funding for IT projects at the Citrus Club on March 22, 2012.

This GeekIT will cover the following topics as they relate to information technology departments in the public sector:
• Mobile Device & Network Security Solutions - Employees and guests are bringing their own mobile devices into the school and work place more frequently. How can an organization allow these devices on the network while ensuring the network stays safe and secure? Our presenters will share ideas and solutions to improve security processes.

• Grant Funding - How can IT departments attain ever-increasing requirements for innovative and secure networks while held to budget constraints? Our presenters will provide insight on grant funding to assist public sector organizations implement necessary IT projects and initiatives.
Greg Mathison, Cisco Global Solutions Manager for Education, and Bob Stanberry, Cisco Public Safety Development Manager, will be the guest presenters at the event. They have varied backgrounds with several years of loyal public service from education to government. Additionally, both gentlemen are very experienced in network security, physical security, grant writing, and policymaking.
