- (1888PressRelease) February 05, 2014 - Austin, TX - Alexis Jones, the co-founder of I AM THAT GIRL, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring girls, released her first book today titled "I AM THAT GIRL: How to Speak Your Truth, Discover Your Passion and #BeThatGirl" with 10-percent of sales benefitting the I AM THAT GIRL 501(c)3 organization. I AM THAT GIRL is available exclusively at Claire's and Icing stores (and online) from February 4 through March 18, 2014.
"This book is all about starting a movement with friends and strangers alike," shares actress and philanthropist, Sophia Bush, who wrote the foreword for the book. "Alexis is setting a tone for us. She is reminding us that we can lay down the armor we wear, and embrace rather than battle. We can each be THAT GIRL; the one who is so inspiring that she makes us want to be better."
In the book, Jones focuses on the central problems that girls are constantly surrounded with in today's society while inspiring them to discover their innate worth and purpose. In a media driven world full of messages defining what it means to be beautiful, smart, or talented, questions like "What are your passions?", "What are your dreams?" and "Who do you want to be?" often get lost. Jones understands this, and has built a career helping girls answer those questions while inspiring them to think for themselves, discover who they are, and be confident in pursuing their own dreams and aspirations.
"I AM THAT GIRL feels more like having a conversation with your best friend than a cheesy self- help book… it's hilarious, inspiring with a sprinkle of tough love," said I AM THAT GIRL supporter, Hillary Duff.
The book also includes stories from thirty incredible women, creating one complete guide to being That Girl, the best version of any girl. Upon the release of I AM THAT GIRL, Alexis will be touring the country igniting a movement that spreads her message of turning self-doubt into self-love, with 10-percent of book profits being donated back to the I AM THAT GIRL non-profit organization.

ABOUT I AM THAT GIRL (501c3)
I AM THAT GIRL is a movement inspiring girls to BE, LOVE, and EXPRESS who they are through education, content and community. A girl's physical, emotional and mental well-being is rooted in her self-worth. And we are living in an epidemic of self-doubt. I AM THAT GIRL exists to transform self-doubt in to self-love. Every day, girls are bombarded with messages that attack what she is NOT and we work every day to help her love who SHE IS; to see that in herself and inspire that in others.
We've seen limitless possibility when girls have a safe space to have honest conversations about things that matter. By building a community (both local and online) for girls to be seen, be heard, be loved and belong, we are creating a healthier, more powerful world.
Available exclusively at Claire's and Icing stores from February 4 to March 18, 2014; Ten percent of all book sales will benefit the I AM THAT GIRL non-profit organization.
