Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) December 21, 2015 - The Monterey Peninsula has a long and successful history of supporting and nurturing music in local schools. Now the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa will add to that legacy with several music-themed fundraisers throughout 2016.

This exciting promotion will raise funds for three local school districts' music programs under the umbrella of the Monterey High School Instrumental Music Boosters (MHSIMB): Carmel Unified School District Music Boosters, Pacific Grove Music Boosters (PGMD) and Monterey High School Music Boosters.

The yearlong promotion includes four monthly fundraising opportunities that will run through the entire month for each of the three schools, a quarterly music performance at the hotel's TusCA Ristorante and a one-time Wine. Dine. Jazz. 2016 Gala that will feature a wide variety of food and beverages suitable for both adults and children and performances by student jazz musicians from each district.

During the four months designated for each school ("PGMB fundraising month," for example), 30% of the proceeds from sales at TusCA Ristorante, Fireplace Lounge and/or Knuckles Sports Bar will go to that school.

A guest at any of these venues needs only to mention that they are, for example, "supporting the Monterey High School Music Boosters" and 30% of that patron's check will go to Monterey boosters. All prices are "full retail" and not a 30% discount.

Pacific Grove Music Boosters will have February, May, August and November. Carmel Unified School District Music Boosters' months will be January, April, July and October. Monterey High School Music Boosters will be designated March, June, September and December.

Quarterly dinner performances will be held from 6-8 p.m. on the first Wednesday during one of the school's promotional months, and will feature a performance by the school's student musicians in TusCA Ristorante. Thirty percent of the proceeds from that evening's TusCA full-menu revenues will go to the school.

The WDJ 2016 Gala will be held from 5:30-730 pm. Sunday, May 15th, 2016, and hosted by the Hyatt Regency Monterey. All of the districts, Carmel, Pacific Grove and Monterey, will come together to celebrate the talent, hard work and passion of their student musicians. Ticket prices will be $45 for adults and $10 for students, inclusive of all taxes and gratuities, with children 5 and under free. Pacific Grove Music Boosters is a volunteer organization that supports youth music programs through such actions as employment of visiting master musicians to help students hone their skills, purchasing new instruments and repairing old ones, payment of competition entrance fees, distribution of scholarships to students with financial need, awarding scholarships to outstanding music students, and more.

Membership fees and donations provide about one-third of the total financial support for PG Music Boosters. The other two-thirds of the budget is funded by sponsorships from local music teachers and businesses as well as grants from other charitable organizations.
