Hummingbird and Masimo Sign a Multi-year Agreement
Hummingbird provides RoHs compliant Paracube paramagnetic oxygen sensing technology for Masimo's ISA OR+ sidestream gas analyzers.
- (1888PressRelease) August 19, 2014 - Crowborough, UK - Hummingbird Sensing Technology, a leading manufacturer of gas sensing technologies for medical and industrial markets, has partnered with Masimo (NASDAQ: MASI), a global leader in innovative noninvasive monitoring technologies that have been proven to significantly improve patient care. Hummingbird's paramagnetic oxygen sensing technology is used in Masimo's ISA OR+ sidestream gas analyzers, which combine innovative Masimo technologies with advanced features to optimize all aspects of multi-gas monitoring.
Hummingbird's general manager, Dominic Corsale, said: "We are very pleased to partner with Masimo. The Paracube paramagnetic oxygen sensing technology is available with Masimo's ISA OR+ sidestream gas analyzers, which are used in the operating room to measure CO2, N2O, anesthetic agents, and include automatic agent identification."
Masimo's ISA OR+ gas analyzers are offered as a stand-alone "plug-in and measure" modules, or as an easy-to-integrate built-in modules. Using Hummingbird's paramagnetic oxygen sensors offers an accurate, highly stable and selective response in a non-depleting unit, ensuring Masimo's ISA gas analyzer delivers fast response for expired breath oxygen measurement with high accuracy and reliability in anesthesia applications.
Hummingbird's innovative paramagnetic sensors have been developed for greater flexibility and easier integration with advances in medical equipment design of many OEM medical manufacturing partners.
Robert Zyzanski, CEO of Masimo Sweden AB, a Masimo subsidiary, said: "We look forward to this valuable partnership with Hummingbird Sensing Technology, whose oxygen sensors will provide our customers with a cost-effective, non-depleting, RoHS-compliant solution for their oxygen measurement needs."
