Huizar Honoring 'Last Comic Standing' Winner Felipe Esparza
Boyle Heights' comedian garnered national attention after winning competition - Huizar to honor him Friday in Council and at special musical festival at Boyle Heights Farmers Market
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) August 21, 2010 - Comedian Felipe Esparza, who turned everyday tales of growing up in the eastside's Boyle Heights into a winning formula on national television as the 2010 winner of "Last Comic Standing," will be honored Friday, August 20th by Councilmember José Huizar.
First, Felipe will receive a special city resolution from Councilmember Huizar and the City Council during a presentation at their 10 a.m. Council meeting at City Hall, City Council Chambers @ City Hall, 3rd Floor.
Then at approximately 6 p.m., Councilmember Huizar will honor Felipe onstage at a special "Gran Festival" at the Boyle Heights Farmers Market at Mariachi Plaza. Friday evening's celebration will also include musical entertainment from a variety of acts, as well as a Rancho-style horse exhibition at the popular farmers market, which was launched this summer to bring quality fruits and vegetables to the Boyle Heights' community.
