(1888PressRelease) August 25, 2011 - In an effort to promote its company Facebook page, expand its client base, and pay homage to its hometown, Texas storage company Proguard Self Storage hosted a Facebook giveaway dubbed "Celebrate Houston," allowing fans to enter to win a pair of Mezzanine tickets to a Houston Astros game at the Minute Maid Park - which included an all-you-can-eat pass to the Park's hotdog, nachos, popcorn, peanuts, soda, and water supply.

Fans needed only join Proguard's mailing list to enter to win, allowing current and potential users of the Houston self storage company to stay in the loop about seasonal discounts, news about their local facility, and storage ideas and tips. The contest lasted two weeks, after which a winner - Justin Higgs - was chosen.

"I chose a game in late September. I go to most of the games anyway, but it's awesome to get a pair of tickets for free! It's a really cool giveaway - I hope they do it again," said Higgs.

Higgs, a longtime Astros fan, was happy to find that much of Proguard's Facebook activity focused on the Astros during the contest, and made a point to comment on the team-centered posts, where he revealed his ardor for the team.

"True to its name, 'Celebrate Houston' is about showing off what a great city we live in. Houston is thriving with culture, and we were thrilled to give people the opportunity to explore an aspect of that culture. We'd love to do something like this again, and we're always open to suggestions from our fans - we certainly don't know everything there is to know about this town, so if our fans can turn us on to something new and fresh, we want to hear about it," said Blenda Stapleton, a manager at one of Proguard's Texas storage facilities.
