Houston Goes JaJo For A Cause: JaJo Couture Releases Fashion For A Cause
JaJo Couture launches a new product line to raise funds for breast cancer and domestic violence foundations.
- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2012 - Fashion label, JaJo Couture, launched a new line called JaJo For A Cause. The new easy street wear line will have proceeds benefiting two foundations. The pink attire will benefit the Pink Fund for those going through breast cancer treatments and the purple will have proceeds benefiting The Society of Women Who Love Shoes, who help against domestic violence.
Breast cancer has affected designer, Janean Johnson, on two occasions. The first was the loss of her great aunt in 1984. This loss still affects her in the sense that she was robbed of ever getting to know the aunt who loved and adored her up until she was almost a year old before she passed away. Then there was the diagnosis of her Grandmother's breast cancer in 2011. In the beginning the outlook was grim being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Of course there was the fear she would have the same fate as her sister. This was a very hard blow for her since she is very close to her grandmother. Through vigorous treatments, care and surgery, her grandmother is a survivor of the disease and is now cancer free. This could not have happened without the aid of foundations helping pay for things that her regular insurance did not cover.
JaJo Couture has been an active philanthropist when it comes to the community. In 2011 she sponsored a custom dress to The Devine Prom Project for underprivileged young ladies, and also sponsored a show in November of 2011 for the American Heart Association. In 2012 she was a key sponsor designer for the Power of Shoes Fashion show which benefited the Society of Women Who Love Shoes organization.
The release of the new line will financially benefit both foundations that cater to those in need. The website was launched yesterday, www.JaJoForACause.com, and has information releasing to both of these foundations and how you can help.
Although the beginnings of these are hooded sweatshirts bearing the JaJo Couture logo and rhinestone lettering, the line will increase to t-shirts, kids wear and denim over time. This is a way to be fashionable and comfortable while advocating the foundations. These are high hopes that this fashion line will make a difference in someone's life. This will be an ongoing line and not just produced during Breast Cancer awareness months or Domestic Abuse months.
