- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) February 08, 2014 - The Houston Bar Foundation is honoring Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP for its "Outstanding Intermediate Firm Contribution to the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program."
The Houston Bar Foundation annually recognizes law firms of various sizes that make important contributions to the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, the Bar Foundation's pro bono legal services provider. Gardere will be honored at the Foundation's annual luncheon on Feb. 25 at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston.
"Gardere has been very committed to pro bono work over the years, particularly in issues related to the welfare of children and seniors," says Partner Stephen L. Moll who heads Gardere's pro bono efforts. "This last year, Gardere has focused on working with juveniles and in the preparation of wills and related documents for seniors. I am very proud of our lawyers for making this award possible."
This is the fourth time that Gardere has earned this recognition based on the Firm's pro bono work. The Firm also was designated as a "Star Volunteer" by the Houston Bar Association in 2011 for its work with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and its participation in HBA's Equal Access to Justice Program.
Additionally, attorneys in Gardere's Houston office are committed to volunteering for LegalLines, a community service outreach program developed by the HBA to provide free legal advice and referrals to the public, along with offering free services to the public for a variety of civil cases.
Established in 1982, the Houston Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the HBA.
