Hound Comics, Inc. CEO Supports Saving Nassau Coliseum
Celebrity CEO William 'Brimstone' Kucmierowski speaks at major press conference in support of having Legislature allow the public to vote on passing the budget to save a Long Island landmark.
- Nassau-Suffolk, NY (1888PressRelease) June 01, 2011 - A major press conference was held earlier today at Borrelli's of East Meadow to rally together local business owners, residents, local community groups, celebrities and supporters of allowing the people of Nassau County the power to decide on a tax increase in order to raise the 500 million needed to re-build the Nassau Coliseum. Hound Comics celebrity CEO William 'Brimstone' Kucmierowski stepped forward along with the likes of Mike Mottaw (NY Islanders) and musician Mark O' Connell (Taking Back Sunday) in support of saving a true iconic landmark here on Long Island. "The loss of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum would be a tragedy," Brimstone stressed to the members of the press which included Fox 5, CBS, ABC, WLNY TV/55, News 12 and Fios Channel 1.
"As a Nassau County resident, I completely understand the tax payer's view of steadily rising taxes. The estimated actual increase for Nassau residents would essentially be $48 annually." says Kucmierowski. He continues, "For the cost of one night out to dinner with the family… you can help keep the heart of Long Island beating! As the economy is in a consistently downward spiral, the closing of the coliseum would strip thousands of Long Islanders of their jobs and most certainly put more residents in a financially stressful situation." Kucmierowski stated to the press that this is an extremely personal and emotional subject to him considering he was raised in Uniondale, New York and has spent his entire life with personal and professional ties to the local stadium.
