Hotel G, Beijing's newest and most popular luxury hotel, is currently playing host to the authors of the Bookworm International Literary Festival, held for the fourth time in Beijing.
(1888PressRelease) March 21, 2009 - Hotel G, Beijing's most popular boutique hotel, has partnered with the Bookworm International Literary Festival in Beijing, providing inspirational accommodation for around 50 International writers that will be attending the festival.
The Bookworm Festival is held from early to late March in Beijing, and offers the public the chance to personally meet authors of all types, from around the globe. Workshops, panels, debates, readings and launches all feature.
Mr. Marc Bichet, Hotel G's Sales and Marketing Director, believes Hotel G's unique atmosphere is one of the major advantages for the Bookworm Festival. "The hotel's unique, artistic design; its architect-created spaces; the fascinating and modern art displayed on the walls, all combine to make an environment that really stimulates creativity."
"I've had some extremely flattering comments from our visiting authors regarding Hotel G's design", Mr. Bichet continued.
The architect of Hotel G, Mark Lintott, stated “The hotel was conceived to attract the thinking / travelling / creative guest who would appreciate rooms that are slightly out of the ordinary and very much design driven".
Some of the big names attending the festival include:
William Zorzi, a screenwriter for US television series 'The Wire'
Rabih Alameddine, who wrote 'The Hawakati' / 'The Storyteller'
Local author Mo Yan, whose work 'Red Sorghum' was turned into a film by highly acclaimed director Zhang Yimou
The event will also give Hotel G the chance to be immortalized in a work of fiction - Hotel Ambos Mundos inspired Hemingway to write the first chapters of 'For Whom the Bell Tolls'; the Stanley Hotel in Colorado inspired Stephen King's horror novel 'The Shining'; and the setting for the Bay Hotel in Regis inspired Colin Dexter to write Inspector Morse's 'Way Through The Woods'.
