In a country where pub and club drinks are famously expensive, Beijing's boutique Hotel G recently launched midweek food and beverage specials that have quickly become immensely popular.
(1888PressRelease) July 14, 2009 - Hotel G, a new Beijing designer hotel, recently launched three new midweek drink and snack specials, aiming to make entertainment in Beijing more accessible.
The new midweek specials are:
Tuesday nights, Pasta and Wine: All you can eat pasta and drink wine for only RMB148 All you can eat tapas on Thursday nights for RMB88, with Sangria or red wine by the glass at RMB30 Friday night is TGIF night, with all standard drinks at RMB25
Alex Chakrabarti, the hotel's General Manager says that the Friday night specials have been most popular so far. "We see huge numbers of people through the doors on a Friday night for the TGIF drink specials. Customers are telling us that the specials are simply great value, and they can take advantage of them because they don’t have to work the next day".
"But the Tuesday night Pasta and Wine night have built up a bit of a following also. Even the first night we had the promotion, the place was full", Alex continued.
The drink specials are available from the hotel's Scarlett Wine Bar and restaurant, which has fast become a Beijing staple in the short time it has been open. Scarlett was reviewed by a San Franciscan customer as "a great night venue", one of the highlights of "one of the most memorable hotel experiences I have ever had … the place is super trendy … the staff are tripping over themselves to help you, [and] the breakfast is great".
MIT in Beijing has also chosen the Scarlett as a regular venue for their happy hour catch-ups. "We've started to notice familiar faces at Scarlett", said Mrs Wang. "We enjoy it, and the customers love the value".
