  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2010 - Universal City is embracing the terrifying spirit of Halloween with the 2010 "Halloween Horror Nights" event at Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and Hilton Los Angeles Universal City is joining the festivities by offering a package just for Halloween Horror Night visitors. The special event offers spine-chilling new mazes based upon the horror genre's most compelling characters. Rob Zombie and other top artists collaborated with Universal Studios Hollywood in the creation of new mazes, "scare zones" and backlot experiences. Halloween Horror Nights' mazes will include "A Nightmare On Elm Street™: Never Sleep Again," "Friday the 13th™: Kill, Jason, Kill!," Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpses: In 3D Zombievison" plus "Saw: Game On" and "Vampyre: Castle of the Undead." Among the six "Scare Zones" is a new "La Llorona" experience, based upon the timeless Mexican legend.

Guests at this year's Halloween Horror Nights® event will have the opportunity to let the terror run all night long with the package from Hilton Los Angeles / Universal City hotel. After surviving some of horror's greatest legends, the welcomed comfort of the night's respite will be located just across the street, a short walk from the theme park exit. With over 483 guestrooms and suites, the ideal accommodations can be arranged for individuals, couples and groups alike. Amenities include an outdoor pool, whirlpool, and pool bar, complemented with cabanas, dining tables and lounge chairs. For a relaxed setting, take advantage of specials in the hotel's own Atrium Lounge or enjoy the locals' favorite specialty weekend brunch in Café Sierra restaurant.

This years event at Universal Studios Hollywood will also provide the exclusive option to board trams bound directly for the blockbuster new ride, "King Kong 360 3-D" created by Peter Jackson. For the first time, round-trip "Skull Island Express" tram rides are being offered only during "Halloween Horror Nights" as an added feature to the nighttime event and will be separate from the park's famous "Terror Tram" backlot attraction. The theme park's favorite thrill-ride attractions will also remain open for "Halloween Horror Nights" as well, many with menacing twists. Halloween Horror Nights continues on consecutive weekends and selected weekday nights through Sunday, October 31.

The turnout for this event to date has far outdone the previous year and is only expected to grow as Halloween approaches. Planning visits and accommodations as soon as possible, is highly recommended.
