Leading Hong Kong businesswoman Elizabeth Thomson, founder and President of ICS TRUST, discusses Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprises and other Hong Kong-based China business solutions at the 2011 Asia Pacific Business Outlook conference in Los Angeles.
(1888PressRelease) April 08, 2011 - Los Angeles and Hong Kong - Leading Hong Kong businesswoman Elizabeth Thomson, of ICS TRUST, told American business owners that seemingly insurmountable barriers to doing business in China disappear once they start to use Hong Kong as their gateway into China.
Thomson, founder and president of leading Hong Kong-based commercial and trade services company ICS TRUST - www.icstrust.com spoke at the 2011 Asia Pacific Business Outlook (APBO) conference, recently held in Los Angeles. The conference is regarded as the premier business networking conference for the Asia Pacific region for business leaders and executives looking for trade and investment opportunities in Asia Pacific markets.
"The Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise is emerging as the key vehicle through which a foreign company needs to do business in China," says Thomson, a highly-respected lawyer-turned-entrepreneur. "And when the WFOE is set up using Hong Kong to bridge what China requires and what your home country and your home office need, doing business in China immediately becomes much easier."
Thomson outlined ICS TRUST's successful approach to helping clients do business in China, and navigating the maze of legal, tax and accounting requirements needed to meet Chinese compliance requirements. Having established a WFOE through Hong Kong, a foreign company can then use a virtual CFO, direct import and export services, and other specialized trade and commercial services from ICS TRUST.
Thomson was the only Hong Kong-based business person invited to speak by Andrew Wylegala, Senior Commercial Officer, United States Consulate General at the APBO conference. Thomson is a governor of both American and Canadian chambers of commerce in Hong Kong.
