Home Stagers Advised to Invest in High-Quality Equipment
Home staging success hinges on investment in quality tools. Expert home stager Debra Gould explains why this is the case.
- (1888PressRelease) August 03, 2011 - New home stagers are often reluctant to invest their limited startup funds in quality equipment and training. But according to Debra Gould, The Staging Diva, these stagers are only holding their businesses back.
"When starting a business, it's important to invest in the proper tools. Fortunately, a home staging business is inexpensive to start up," Gould explains. "There are very few overhead expenses to worry about and no inventory to purchase. The only equipment needed is a computer, office furnishings and an excellent camera. When buying these items, I strongly urge new home stagers to change their mindsets and invest in the very best they can afford."
According to Gould, founder of the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program, buying the cheapest equipment will result in having to replace everything over and over again, requiring a larger expenditure than if quality items had been purchased initially.
"Thinking small will keep you small," says Gould. "On the other hand, the money invested in getting a staging business going is money that will come back many times over. For example, I've bought only two cameras in twelve years, despite all the changes in technology since then. Because I bought a high-quality camera that would serve my needs as I became more successful, my photos have always been excellent, which helped establish my position as the expert home stager in my market."
Gould emphasizes the importance of planning for a real business that will expand and purchasing equipment that will provide growing room, even if the full power isn't needed immediately.
