    It is important to check the permits on your house for several reasons. First if there is an unpermitted addition to your house it might have to be brought up to today’s code. It might have to be torn down. You might have to pay back property taxes on that addition. You might have an open permit on your house that a contractor just forgot to close. These are easier to fix.
