Home Credit India partners with Kota Police for Project Jagruk, Creates awareness on preventing Cybercrime

Ltd, one of India’s fastest growing non-banking finance company (NBFC), and part of Czech Republic-based Home Credit Group, has partnered with Kota Police to launch Project Jagruk, a one- of-its-kind initiative aimed at sensitizing and enhancing awareness among police personnel about cybercrime and financial frauds.
The project was launched in Kota today in the presence of Shri Anand Srivatava, Inspector General of Police, Kota Range along with Shri Gaurav Goyal, District Collector, Shri Deepak Bharghav, Superintendent of Police, Kota City, Shri Rajeev Pachar, Superintendent of Police Kota Rural and Mr. Manish Kaushik, Head – Security, Home Credit India. Kota is the sixth city where Project Jagruk has been introduced, after being successfully launched in Gurugram and implemented in Ambala, Mehsana, Bhopal and Visakhapatnam. The project seeks to assist the Police force in reducing financial frauds in the country by sharing best practices with police personnel investigating complex cases pertaining to financial frauds and cybercrime.
Welcoming the launch of Project Jagruk, Shri Deepak Bharghav, Superintendent of Police, Kota City said; “Project Jagruk is a much-needed initiative to tackle problems like cyber stalking, web jacking, theft of online data, virus dissemination, etc. People today are more likely to face situations which could lead them into problem of financial frauds while opting for transactions which are driven technologically. As an important measurement, we intend to provide our citizens a safe and friendly platform aided by technology for online banking, thus protecting them from financial frauds and cyber-crimes. This initiative of Project Jagruk by Home Credit India will play a major role in helping us spread fraud awareness and reduce cybercrimes going forward.”

Project Jagruk entails knowledge sharing sessions with police officials across different levels on challenges, issues and measures relating to prevention of cybercrime, cyberbullying, online and financial frauds. These sessions will highlight current prevailing trends through case studies and reference materials.
