Home Campus Launches Online Portal for Learning Elementary Mathematics
Home Campus launches a web portal for studying elementary or grade level mathematics based on Singapore Maths curriculum.
- (1888PressRelease) February 08, 2013 - Homecampus.com.sg, a Singapore-based online school of mathematics, has launched a web portal at www.homecampus.com.sg for elementary school children to teach them basic primary level maths through the extensive use of visuals.
According to Farhat Pachisa, co-founder of Home Campus, "Most children find math scary. Our main goal has been to make a fun and conducive environment for children so they can learn at their own pace. Home Campus focuses on building a strong foundation in primary-level mathematics while keeping in mind that every child has a unique aptitude, interest and learning curve."
Started up in 2010, the website offers various modes of studying mathematics including video lessons, practice worksheets and tests. "Users have access to literally unlimited practice questions on each topic with detailed step-by-step explanations if they get stuck at any point," adds Farhat. The website also provides graphical tools to parents and teachers to understand the child's progress and development.
Home Campus follows the latest maths curriculum as set by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore. "The Singapore math syllabus is recognized worldwide to be comprehensive. It is designed to encourage a deep understanding of mathematics in daily life. In particular, the model method of problem-solving, used widely on our website, helps develop the child's understanding of fundamental math concepts and proficiency in solving basic word problems," remarks Farhat.
Learning is every child's right. Home Campus makes it available to every child through its "pay as you wish" model.
