Holmeswood Releases Disco Earth (Summer Soul Remix)
An Electronic Disco Dance reimagining of his song "Disco Earth"
- (1888PressRelease) September 14, 2018 - New York, NY - Holmeswood releases "Disco Earth (Summer Soul Remix)"; an Electronic Disco Dance reimagining of his song "Disco Earth" written and recorded for his successful 2015 eponymous album “Holmeswood”. Originally, "Disco Earth" highlighted an electro-pop sensibility. The Summer Soul Remix features all new vocals presented in classic disco style featuring electronic horns and other disco elements. The remix and its name is in homage to 1970s disco music and especially in tribute to Holmeswood's favorite "Queen of Disco", Donna Summer.
"Disco Earth (Summer Soul Remix)" follows Holmeswood's remix "Earthquake (E.T. Remix)". The original recording of "Disco Earth" was co-written and recorded with former NYC based British music producer Jamie Muffett. " "Disco Earth (Summer Soul Remix)" was re-arranged and produced by Argentinian pianist / composer / producer Dario Boente (Antonio Sanchez, Ronny Jordan, Fernando Otero, Joshua Thompson, Pablo Aslan, Mark Whitfield and others); and co-produced with Eric Jayk (Sandra Bernhard’s Rock Band and her off-Broadway Show, “Everything Bad, & Beautiful”, Wildstreet, Astra The 22s, and others).
Christopher Wood Holmes (a.k.a. ‘Holmeswood’,) is an American pop-rock singer/songwriter, actor, artist, director and producer of film and music videos. His first film appearance was in director Frank Oz’s 2004 remake of The Stepford Wives, starring Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Bette Midler and Christopher Walken. Next, he appeared in two episodes of Whoopi Goldberg’s sitcom Whoopi, followed by the lead role as a zombie slayer in Film Royale’s The Long Road to Gary, which premiered at the Village East Cinema in NYC as an Official Selection in the 2005 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. After a bit part in Revolutionary Road, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in 2009, he portrayed Corporate Agent Geryon alongside veteran actor and producer Lloyd Kaufman in his second Film Royale project Polypore, released in 2013.
In 2008, he made his live stage debut as the vocal performer “Holmeswood” at the New York International Guitar Festival’s “Bob Dylan Song Contest.” When Holmeswood took the stage at the legendary Bitter End on Bleecker Street in NYC he brought the house down performing a pop version of Dylan’s "Like a Rolling Stone". From there he was selected as one of the finalists to perform at the Arts World Financial Center–Winter Garden.
Stay tuned . . . since the release of his debut album, Holmeswood has been in the studio working on remixes of the entire album being released as individual remix singles. The remixes along with corresponding artwork are presented in the original order which is clearly the artist's auto-biographical journey and exploration; each remix and artwork relating to the others to tell his story in cinematic fashion.
"Disco Earth (Summer Soul Remix)" is available on iTunes, CD Baby.com, and all other major music platforms.
