Holmeswood kicks off the New Year releasing his retro-waving happy dance remix titled “Contradictions (Tao Mix)”
- (1888PressRelease) February 02, 2019 - Holmeswood kicks off the New Year releasing his retro-waving happy dance remix titled “Contradictions (Tao Mix)”; an electronic synth-pop remix of his song "Contradictions" written and recorded for his successful 2015 eponymous album "Holmeswood". The original “Contradictions" featured an up-tempo dance beat with synth-pop elements. “Contradictions (Tao Mix)” also features up-tempo dance beats with all new vocals and experiments playfully with contrasting genres of music; elements of 80’s synth- pop, jazz scat singing, new wave, and modern EDM play off classic orchestra string arrangements to perfectly embody the contrasting yet complimentary Yin Yang spirit of the song.
The original recording of “Contradictions” was co-written and recorded with NYC based British music producer Jamie Muffett. “Contradictions (Tao Mix)” was re-arranged and produced by Argentinian pianist / composer / producer Dario Boente (Antonio Sanchez, Ronny Jordan, Fernando Otero, Joshua Thompson, Pablo Aslan, Mark Whitfield and others); and co-produced with Eric Jayk (Sandra Bernhard’s Rock Band and her off-Broadway Show, “Everything Bad, & Beautiful”, Wildstreet, Astra The 22s, and others).
Christopher Wood Holmes (a.k.a. ‘Holmeswood’), is an American pop-rock singer/songwriter, actor, artist, director and producer of film and music videos. In 2008, he made his live stage debut as the vocal performer “Holmeswood” at the New York International Guitar Festival’s “Bob Dylan Song Contest.” When Holmeswood took the stage at the legendary Bitter End on Bleecker Street in NYC he brought the house down performing a pop version of Dylan’s "Like a Rolling Stone". After that he was selected as one of the finalists to perform at the Arts World Financial Center event at the Winter Garden.
Since the release of his debut album, Holmeswood has been in the studio working on remixes of the entire album being released as individual remix singles. “Contradictions (Tao Mix)” marks the 10th song of his 12 song album to be remixed. The remaining 2 remixes are also on schedule for release in early 2019.
