A fun-filled family event promises arts, performances, games, food, and fair rides in a festival atmosphere for students, parents and town residents alike.
Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) October 11, 2014 - Ms. Julie Schroer, Director of The New School Montessori Center in Holly Springs, North Carolina, announced an open invitation to members of the public and the media to attend the school's fourth annual Fall Festival. The theme of this year's event is Celebration of the Seas, emphasizing ocean conservation.
The theme serves to raise awareness for ocean conservation while providing students the opportunity to learn about the importance of oceans. At the festival, students present posters of relevant artwork and research they have completed.
Each year, the festival organizers select a charitable organization as a beneficiary of funds raised by the event. This year the school has partnered with the Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center from Topsail Island, North Carolina. This non-profit organization is dedicated to the care and release of sick and injured sea turtles.
In addition to carnival rides and games, the festival will provide hands-on educational activities, including a touch tank of live sea creatures presented by The North Carolina Aquarium. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will host a booth on protecting our oceans. The festival includes various other activities, presenters, and vendors.
To be held Friday October 24, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the festival will be held on the school premises, with free parking close by. Admission is $15.00 for adults and children over 2 years old. Children younger than 2 are free. Admission includes unlimited participation in all of the rides, activities and events at the festival, free popcorn, and a free raffle ticket. Local caterer Barry's Café will provide refreshments and traditional BBQ meals.
Ms. Schroer encourages local participation as a way to support a charitable cause. "As the biggest and longest established private school in Holly Springs we're proud to be establishing a local tradition. This our fourth annual festival, and we're really excited to welcome everyone from our local community to learn more about our oceans while having a great time and contributing to charity," she said.
