Hoi Foods takes on a conscientious goal this lockdown with their Donate a Meal drive for daily wage workers

(1888PressRelease) April 15, 2020 - Hoi Foods, Gurgaon based startup that is setting up a highly scalable network of cloud kitchens has initiated- Donate a Meal drive to provide meals for daily wage workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations are being collected online and meals are being provided to daily wage workers in parts of Gurugram and South Delhi.

While the nation stays in lockdown, daily wage workers are severely facing the brunt of COVID-19 on their financial and overall well-being. Hoi Foods is preparing fresh and wholesome meals for daily wage workers in parts of Gurugram and South Delhi. The company aims to provide 50,000 meals by the end of April 2020. While the company, on its own, has been distributing upto 500 meals a day to these badly affected people, it is raising ₹15,00,000 (15 Lakhs INR) through their Donate a Meal drive.

Presently they have raised ₹11,06,000 out of ₹15,00,000 and are diligently working to reach the target amount and have been able to raise the daily meal distribution to 1500. The company can take this to 3000 meals a day.

The rampant spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown declared in India, has had a significant impact on daily wagers. Daily wage workers are high in number and are a pivotal part in every citizen’s daily lives. Those who clean our facilities, fix our meals, wash our dishes, build our roads and buildings, drive our cabs, run our mills, are all dependent on their daily wages- which they are currently not being able to earn. There are lakhs of such people and many agencies are working to help them.

Hoi Foods’ initiative stands by their motto of delivering happiness as they continue to make happy food for these workers in these trying times. The company is taking all necessary precautions of social distancing and following all government guidelines during this initiative. Hoi Foods is also working in accordance with #i4India campaign to help feed at least 100000 meals to those in need.
