Historic Dunham Massey Lawn Tennis Club Opens its Doors for the Family Open Day
Dunham Massey Lawn Tennis Club is steeped in history and was established in 1920. The Tennis Club was founded by servicemen returning from the 1st World War who wanted to provide recreational facilities for Dunham Massey residents and it is one of the oldest clubs in North Cheshire.
- (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2019 - On Sunday, May 12th Dunham Massey Lawn Tennis Club are opening their doors and inviting members of the public to join the members of the Club at their FREE Family Open Day. The Club is nestled in a corner of the Cheshire countryside at Woodhouse Lane, Dunham Massey. Families are invited to come along and take to the lawns for free tennis from 2 pm. Other events include touch tennis’ swing ball and badminton. It’s also a great opportunity to meet ‘the Coach’. FREE cake will be on offer alongside other refreshments.
Anyone can try the sport from absolute beginners to the more advanced and it suits all levels of fitness. The Open Day is one of many events in the run-up to Centenary celebrations that will take place in 2020.
We welcome families and individuals to join us on this occasion with a view to taking up membership, and as an incentive the Club is offering half-price subscriptions for families and single adults of £25 for those joining on the day or before 31st May.
Dunham Massey Tennis Club Chair, Sue Bailey commented “Tennis is a great way to keep fit. You don’t have to be an ‘expert’ to be part of Dunham Massey Lawn Tennis Club, it’s a case of being active and getting involved and having fun too.”
