- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 09, 2013 - Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP Founder and Co-Managing Partner Glen E. Kraemer has been selected to receive the "Founder's Award" from the Los Angeles-based OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center.
OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center, a non-profit organization with centers in West Los Angeles and Woodland Hills, Calif., serves the community by providing grief support groups, education, resources and hope for children, teens and adults. The organization's "Founder's Award" is its highest honor and is given to individuals who have contributed significantly both in time and resources to the advancement of its mission.
"Glen has been an integral part of OUR HOUSE for more than 20 years. His compassion and dedication to helping those in our community affected by grief - especially children - was why he was selected as our inaugural board chair and why he is being honored with this award," said Michele Prince, executive director of OUR HOUSE.
"Following my sister Karen's death, my involvement with OUR HOUSE provided me the opportunity to give purpose and voice to the emotions that I was struggling with in the wake of losing her. The work that OUR HOUSE is doing is truly changing lives, and I am proud to be a part of it," said Kraemer.
Kraemer will be honored with the "Founder's Award" at the organization's 20th Anniversary House of Hope Gala on November 16 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The sold-out event will also honor TV host and actress Melissa Rivers whose father died tragically when she was 18.
At his law firm, Hirschfeld Kraemer, Kraemer focuses exclusively on representing employers in matters of employment law, including discrimination and harassment claims, compliance issues involving disability accommodations, wage/hour concerns, protected leaves, and corrective counseling, discipline and termination practices. Kraemer frequently presents trainings for employers on workplace issues, including prevention of workplace violence.
"We are incredibly proud of Glen. His passionate commitment to children and families in need speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. We are delighted that his efforts are being recognized in this way and proud of the example he sets for the firm," said Stephen J. Hirschfeld, founder and co-managing partner of Hirschfeld Kraemer LLP.
In addition to his involvement with OUR HOUSE, Kraemer is also a longtime supporter and recent vice president of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
