  • Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2010 - Hip hop artist and international recording star, Pitbull (Armando Christian Perez), stopped by the Hip Hop Kidz dance class at Just Fit Gym in Plantation, where 120 kids, ages 7 to 17, rehearsed for their Dolphins/Jets halftime appearance. The young dancers along with Miami Dolphins cheerleaders performed with Enrique Iglesias and featured artist Pitbull as they sang their hit song "I like It" at the season's opening home game.

Pitbull, the famous Cuban rapper, became familiar with Hip Hop Kidz when a close, personal friend enrolled her son in the program. After reviewing their website and videos, Pitbull contacted the Hip Hop Kidz organization and invited the top level Cast Crew dancers to open for his appearance at Calle Ocho 2010. Calle Ocho is one of the world's largest Latin street festivals which is held annually in the streets of little Havana in Miami, Florida.

Prior to Pitbull's recent Miami Dolphins opening night appearance, he stopped by to visit the Hip Hop Kidz rehearsal with the intention to inspire the young dancers to go for their dreams. "I see a fire in their eyes when they perform that reminds me of my youth growing up in the streets of Miami. I wanted these kids to know that they too, can achieve their goals and know that nothing is impossible despite certain adversities in life," said Pitbull.

President of Hip Hop Kidz, Suzy Stone, always makes sure her dancers understand the importance of hard work and commitment to get to the top. "It was an honor and a privilege to have such a famous recording artist visit our class," said Stone. "Pitbull was amazingly warm, down to earth and motivating. He brought pizza and drinks for the dancers and stayed to watch their practice session with enthusiasm and smiles. Most importantly he took time to hug the children and praise their efforts."

Hip Hop Kidz mission statement "No Drugs No Violence, Just Dance" rings true throughout their performances as they strive to be role models to kids nationwide. What began two decades ago as a small class with only seven kids, has now turned into a national phenomenon with over 500 students participating throughout Florida and in California. Hip Hop Kidz students learn the hottest choreography to the freshest beats in a fun, creative, easy to follow atmosphere. Most Hip Hop Kidz students take classes for fun and fitness, but some aspire to more advanced levels, including several performance troupes. Some former Hip Hop Kidz have become famous entertainers such as Cassie Scerbo of ABC Family's hit show "Make It Or Break It" and Brandon Bryant of "So You Think You Can Dance."

Hip Hop Kids dancers have opened for the Los Angeles based, award winning Groovaloos dance group, danced in the MACY's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City and appeared as featured performers on the Today Show, CBS Early Show, The Tony Danza Show, BET, MTV and numerous videos and commercials. The Hip Hop Kids organization has also spawned its own full length movie, music CD and book series.
