  • (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2025 - Plantation, FL – The Hindu American Political Action Committee of Florida (HAPAC-FL) is proud to host an Appreciation Luncheon for the State, County, School Board and City Elected Officials on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM at Jacaranda Country Club, 9200 W. Broward Blvd, Plantation, FL 3324. Those interested in attending or need more information may contact Mr. Shekar Reddy at Shekher1 ( @ ) msn dot com

This luncheon serves as an opportunity to honor and express gratitude to the State, County, School Board and City elected officials who have shown their support for the local Hindu community and its causes. It will also serve as a vital platform for educating our elected leaders about the challenges faced by Hindus in the United States and globally—from discrimination to physical violence in certain parts of the world.

Hindu civilization has played an instrumental role in shaping global knowledge and progress over the course of several millennium. This includes, but not limited to, global peace, tolerance, yoga, science and medicine. Such contributions continue to this day as evidenced by scores of Hindu CEOs leading several global corporations.

Despite these remarkable contributions, Hindus in recent years face increasing challenges worldwide including, Hinduphobia. From attacks on Hindu temples in the U.S. and abroad to targeted killings and ethnic cleansing in regions like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, the Hindu community continues to struggle for recognition, security, and the preservation of its rich cultural heritage. Raising awareness and engaging with policymakers is crucial in addressing these pressing issues.

This luncheon will provide a platform for open discussions between the Hindu community and elected officials, fostering stronger relationships and identifying ways in which policymakers can support Hindu Americans. HAPAC-FL encourages all members of the community to participate in this dialogue and work together to ensure the safety, recognition, and advancement of Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh values and traditions.
