- (1888PressRelease) August 29, 2010 - PANAMA CITY, PANAMA - Hidalgo Bancorp (f//k/a Hidalgo Corporation) has announced launch of $40 million fund to aid cleantech companies in Central America. The funding program will develop jobs and reduce carbon emissions within developing countries as Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Belize.
Cary Lee Peterson, President of Hidalgo Bancorp comments, "The need for positive financial aid to this part of the world can produce tremendous results for the community, economy, and the environment. We can't save the world overnight, however we can look back years from now and know we are responsible for the progress created by the green companies that will participate in our Central American cleantech fund which ultimately benefits the people."
The cleantech fund consists of grant and loan programs to small businesses operating in Central America that offset carbon emissions through renewable and alternative energy solutions. Hidalgo Bancorp encourages other independent investors and financial institutions to become more active in nations with developing economies.
