HHHunt Homes Sponsors 2014 Allen Stone Braveheart Memorial Run-Swim-Run
As a sponsor of the 2014 Allen Stone Braveheart Memorial Run-Swim-Run, renowned mid-Atlantic region home builder HHHunt Homes joined many in remembrance of local hero and Navy SEAL (Sea, Air and Land Forces) Allen Stone.

At 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19th, competitors gathered together for a fun-filled and family-friendly day of racing at Neptune Park in Virginia Beach. Featured events were a Run-Swim-Run, a 5K race and a one-mile kid's race. The event also included a welcome ceremony and kickoff by Mayor Will Sessoms, a reading of the "Bravehearts," the Navy SEAL Creed and Invocation, the national anthem, an award ceremony, raffle, pull-up contest and race after-party.

"It goes without saying that Allen Stone is an inspiration to many. From event participants to volunteers, the positive tone and camaraderie was unmistakable. Having passed away unexpectedly in September 1999 during a Navy SEAL training exercise, Stone had been selected earlier that Spring to serve in an elite Navy SEAL training cell. The former race winner and event organizers' friend was memorialized with the renaming of the "Braveheart Run-Swim-Run" to the "Allen Stone Braveheart Run-Swim-Run" to honor his courageous spirit and passion for life. A small memorial stone in North Carolina is inscribed with one of his favorite sayings, "When the pavement ends, the fun begins."
