Covid-19 is leaving a nasty footprint around the world and leaving pain and destruction in its wake.
In these tough times, we get to witness some of humanities greatest attributes; and this is no exception. When you consider how all the people deemed ‘essential services’ are willing to be there for us, in spite of the obvious risks it’s easy to be proud and thankful.
But, the level of thanks they get is simply not enough, which is why I decided to launch the ‘Covid-19 Hero Awards’.
I know this because my wife is in the care sector and working with sick, elderly and people at the highest risk. She knows many that have died from Covid-19 and feels very emotional about it all. There is a trend happening in our community, where at 7:00 PM everyone opens their doors and windows, goes outside on their decks and makes as much noise as possible to say thanks. She broke down and cried many times feeling the level of appreciation.
I share this because these amazing, giving people would never ask for recognition outwardly, but it does mean the world when it comes authentically to them.
The Covid-19 Hero Awards will award monthly winners where they will receive acknowledgement, local press coverage, and a gift package. We are looking for great business alliances to be a part of something special for our local heroes.
