    Coinciding with the buying season, the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles, Heimtextil India, will take place from 19 - 21 June 2014 in Hall 11 of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Heimtextil India 2014, organised by Messe Frankfurt, is a part of Messe Frankfurt's international portfolio of Heimtextil events, currently held across Europe, the US, Russia and Asia. The New Delhi show aims to position itself as the only platform addressing contract and retail trade in the Indian Home Textile industry, allowing access to the booming realty, interiors and hospitality sectors in the country.

    India's textile market, backed by favourable government policies, strong infrastructure and finely-tuned service capabilities, is projected to grow at a CAGR of 9.5 per cent to exceed INR 12 trillion (USD 223 billion) by 2021, up from INR 4 trillion (USD 89 billion) in 2011. An integral part of the industry, the home textiles and furnishing sector, currently estimated at INR 17,000 crore (USD 4 billion), is expected to maintain a brisk CAGR of 9 per cent and projected to be worth INR 40,000 crore (USD 9 billion) by 2021.

    Many factors point to the importance of a Heimtextil event for India. Increasing households, disposable incomes and sectors like office and hospitality are some of the key growth drivers of the home textile and furnishing market. Additionally, there has been a significant increase in the number of high net worth individuals who take their homes and its décor seriously. This housing boom, in sync with increasing consumerism within the country, heightens the significance of hosting Heimtextil India 2014.
