HealthWay Launches Innovative Inline Air Filtration System that Surpasses Industry Standards
HealthWay has released a new inline air filtration system for use in large commercial spaces that surpasses even the best currently-available air filtration systems in capturing dust and airborne particles.
- Syracuse, NY (1888PressRelease) March 04, 2011 - HealthWay, a global leader in innovative air filtration equipment and technology, has developed the first inline filtration system that achieves better than 99.99% efficiency in capturing particles in the air. The system utilizes HealthWay's patented, award-winning Disinfecting Filtration System (DFS) technology.
This system works by conglomerating particles with a lower efficiency media raising efficiency to better than a MERV 16 rating. MERV is a standard rating in the HVAC industry used to rate the ability of an air conditioning filter to remove dust from the air as it passes through a filter. The most efficient filters have MERV ratings of 13 to 16 and will stop particles as small as 0.3 microns. These filters are used in hospitals and other super clean environments.
Independent testing of HeatlhWay's technology shows efficiencies that have never been recorded before in surpassing HEPA or ULPA filtration. Additionally, the technology uses much less energy than HEPA or ULPA, making it more environmentally-friendly.
"We are excited to launch this revolutionary technology that provides unsurpassed filtration efficiency without the energy penalty," states Vinny Lobdell, Executive VP of Global Sales.
Inline systems can be installed in existing commercial HVAC systems, in most cases allowing for the system to slide into the buildings existing filtration. However, for older buildings that require a booster fan and motor, HealthWay has also developed a self-contained version that goes inline on the supply side of the duct. Testing of the system also shows lower bio-burden rates and destruction of viruses, mold bacteria and fungi.
HealthWay's latest technology and equipment provides building owners efficiency and energy savings that qualify for extra points in the LEED certification process. Gus Mitropoulos, Professional Engineer and owner of IAQ technology in Toronto, Canada, states that, "filtration of this magnitude that also provides energy savings has never been seen before. All projects we spec will utilize this new filtration system. Our installs thus far have surpassed our expectations."
The new commercial systems are great for new construction or existing building refurbishments. It is also a great fit for hospitals and hotels trying to be more allergy-friendly and any commercial building looking to qualify for LEED status. HealthWay plans to market the system initially to healthcare facilities and in the hotel industry throughout many countries where they already have a strong presence and distribution networks.
