Hawaii Based Artist, Loren D. Adams, Jr. to Sell Painting for Non-Profit
Loren D. Adams, Jr., Founder and Visionary Artist of Loren Adams Studio and Museum of Fine Arts, will be donating one-third of his proceeds of his new piece in support of the Hui O Wa'a Kaulua canoe club.
- Honolulu, HI (1888PressRelease) July 22, 2013 - The permanent dye based print on art-canvas, a limited edition and the original oil painting, The Maiden Voyage of the Mo'okiha O Pi'ilani, which Mr. Adams is now putting the finishing touches on, has been created in support of a Hawaiian heritage project. Hand embellished, signed, and numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity, one-third of all proceeds of the sale and the limited edition of 250 prints will be donated directly to the non-profit Hui O Wa'a Kaulua, a canoe club, in the town of Lahaina. For the past twelve years, this small group of people of Maui, have been working daily on this sixty-two foot canoe, "The Sacred Lizard that Pierces the Heavens", and it's nearly ready to launch. The entire world will be watching when the canoe sets sail on her maiden voyage, just as Mr. Adams has portrayed in his painting, as it sails into the sunset with the flotilla of other Hawaiian canoes.
"When you have lived in Hawaii for seventeen years and it's your home, you are a local and enjoy the process of being Hawaiian," Adams said. "The Transoceanic canoe is the highest art form of the Hawaiian people and as such represents the host culture better than everything else in the islands with the exception of the Hula. This painting and the limited edition is my way of giving back to the Hawaiian people."
For the past forty-six years, Loren D. Adams, Jr. has been mastering his craft in fine art. Well known as "Roy Rogers" in Texas, from June 1976 through August of 1982 he had a series of twenty-eight full-page color ads and two major editorials in the Texas-based Southwest Art Magazine. He was the youngest living artist to have a major retrospective at a major museum: The R.W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, Louisiana. The attendance at this exhibition was the highest in the history of the museum and equal to Aguste Rodin nine years earlier.
Mr. Adams specializes in oil painting, watercolor, printmaking, fine art publishing, display, appraisals, fine art law-full disclosure, and documentation for certified limited editions, all through Loren Adams Studio and Museum of Fine Arts.

Born in Linton, Indiana, Mr. Adams fascination with the sea began after he and his family moved to California when he was six-years-old.
