Hauptman & Hauptman Interviewed On The Dr. Joy Show
Hauptman & Hauptman, guiding families through life’s transitions.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2019 - Yale S. Hauptman, Founding Partner, and Laurie A. Hauptman, Partner, Hauptman & Hauptman, P.C., were recent guests on The Dr. Joy Show. This public affairs television show provides practical advice on issues that affect one’s quality of life.
Dr. Joy Ohayia, Host, opened the wide-ranging conversation which covered elder law, the different types of long term care needed by seniors and the severely disabled, specific financial issues such as paying for care, possible government benefits, and more. They touched on when families and individuals should start planning for long term care and what to expect as the aging process continues to evolve. Yale elaborates, “The best time to speak to an elder law attorney is when an aging family member initially gets a diagnosis. This is just a starting point. Of course, it is never too late to contact an elder law attorney and find out what the options are.”
They also discussed the differences between elder law, estate planning, and disability planning and how each practice is relevant. Laurie stated, “Estate planning answers the question “what happens when you die”. Elder and disability planning addresses the question “what happens if I live, become ill and need long term care and then I die. We concentrate on long term care planning and preservation of wealth for our clients.”
