Quote It takes a village to manage a family these days, and we recognized that the sharing aspects of social networking could be used to assist people in running their homes. Whether you're a mom, a dad, a sibling or a child, the flexibility of coordinating schedules off one, mobile calendar is surprisingly groundbreaking. • (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2012 - Westfield, NJ - HatchedIt is proud to announce the launch of its iPad app in the iTunes store. The free social network for families, HatchedIt.com launched in late 2011 and is a mobile whiteboard for managing your personal life. The site and its Free apps (available on Android, iPhone and now iPad) includes a color-coded, shareable calendar, a photo page (ie., "Pinterest for your intimate social network"), a blogroll that can be personalized to follow your favorite bloggers, a news feed to keep you up to date on current events, and much more.

As people begin to leverage social networks on the Internet they are becoming more focused on finding a place to interact with their most trusted network: Their Family. Hatchedit.com aims to deliver just that in a social network that always defaults to privacy and leaves the user with all control over what they do or do not want to share.

"More people are viewing Facebook as their public identity on the Internet, and are now looking for a place where they can maintain a private identity amongst their family and close friends," explains Megan Brown, co-Founder of HatchedIt.com, a site that calls itself the free, mobile whiteboard for families.

The Internet is seeing a brisk move to smaller social networks. A recent NY Times article identified that "150 people constitute the outer boundary of friends, 50 is the limit for trusted friends, 15 for good friends, and 5 for best friends."

However, HatchedIt is the first socially networked tool that focuses on the business of running a family. "We wanted to take that one 'command central' area of people's homes and mobilize it," says co-Founder Kirsten Bischoff. "It takes a village to manage a family these days, and we recognized that the sharing aspects of social networking could be used to assist people in running their homes. Whether you're a mom, a dad, a sibling or a child, the flexibility of coordinating schedules off one, mobile calendar is surprisingly groundbreaking. We are the first socially networked platform looking to deliver this type of organizational tool."
