Brown, and her co-Founder Kirsten Bischoff created Hatchedit.com in 2012 when the two working moms could not find a suitable tool to manage their busy families. Whether you have family living nearby or spread out across the United States, the Activity Feed feature allows family and close friends to keep close tabs on each other and feel connected in this busy world. "My parents recently moved away to a 55+ community and the Activity Feed will now ensure I am up to date on what is going on as they add events like doctor's appointments and vacations to their schedules," says Bischoff.
"We believe that the site is especially helpful for military families with members deployed far away, or business professionals who travel often for work," she adds. "With technology like Hatchedit.com, there is no need for anyone to feel out of the loop with what is going on in their family. "
Coordinating with Hatchedit.com also cuts down on emails and texts when communicating with family members.
The Hatchedit.com Activity Feed will show members updates on anyone they have permission to view activity for on the social network. The Activity Feed also makes it easier for couples and families sharing a single account to stay abreast of new events/photos/lists within their family account. "When my husband or au pair adds items to the grocery list, the Activity Feed will now notify me," says Brown. "I always know exactly what everyone wants/needs whenever I get to the grocery store."
Additionally, the Activity Feed will serve to update Hatchedit.com members of new articles for any RSS Feed they track with their account. "When I'm in the parking lot, waiting for my daughter's school to get out, I can easily scroll through all of my favorite blogs, or the news hitting our local Patch.com all in once place, an even more important feature now that Google Reader will be gone," says Bischoff.
