Free, Family Calendar is the online tech product of choice for Certified Professional Organizers.
"We found at the NAPO Conference that the women were actively engaged in the dialogue, they wanted to hear what we had to say."
(1888PressRelease) March 27, 2012 - Westfield, NJ - Hatchedit.com is proud to announce that the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) recognized the tech startup during the 2012 NAPO Annual Conference with the prestigious "Organizers' Choice Award for Best Technology Product".
The free family calendar site launched in January 2012. "We wanted to take that area of every kitchen - where the family calendar, picture board, and other important information is stored - and mobilize it," says HATCHEDit.com co-Founding Partner Kirsten Bischoff.
The site distinguishes itself by allowing members to share calendars with other members at various levels of privacy. "For example, my parents - who help out a lot with picking up my daughter from afterschool activities - can see certain event types on my calendar," she says.
Founded in 1985, NAPO boasts over 4,200 members and is a not for profit that was founded to develop, lead and promote professional organizers and the organizing industry. The Association's annual conference is held each spring. The 2012 conference was held in Baltimore, MD.
Professional organizers focus on designing custom organizing systems and processes for their clients as well as teaching them the skills by which they can maintain an organized life. For a tech startup focused on organizing families, the team at HATCHEDit.com was thrilled with the enthusiastic feedback received from NAPO members.
"We found at the NAPO Conference that the women were actively engaged in the dialogue, they wanted to hear what we had to say and were quick to respond with comments on how our site would fit into their own personal lives and in their client's lives." Says Megan Brown, co-Founding Partner at HATCHEDit.com. "They were happy to offer up advice and to send over friends whom they thought would appreciate HATCHEDit. It is this very characteristic that makes the way women communicate beneficial to all types of businesses including the business of managing their own home. Yet, prior to the development of our site, women managing homes and families have been consistently looked over by the tech community when it comes to building Web 2.0 tools."
