Radio Show Host and Dating Expert Julie Spira to Feature Virtual Dating Segment on her online dating radio program.
Research shows if singles go on a virtual date before meeting for the first time, they will have more realistic expectations and a better experience.
Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) October 27, 2010 - To bring together love and science, On Saturday, October 30, 2010, Cyber-Dating Expert Julie Spira will be doing an entire segment on her radio show on virtual dating. Spira's featured guest will be Associate Professor Michael I. Norton from the Harvard Business School.
Norton has been featured in the Economist, Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. He will be discussing his study, "People are Experience Goods: Improving Online Dating With Virtual Dates" from the Journal of Interactive Marketing.
"Virtual dating is becoming a popular feature for online dating success," said Norton. He added, "Research shows that if singles go on a virtual date before meeting for the first time, they will have more realistic expectations and a better experience."
Norton spoke earlier this year at the Internet dating Conference about his study and the dissatisfaction of singles that relied solely on the online dating profile information before going on a first date. In the study, Norton and his associates found that online daters spend seven times as many hours screening profiles and e-mailing potential partners than in actual face-to-face interactions. He found that virtual dating online improved the experience for singles offline.
