Harris Corporation Establishes Regional Government Communications Systems Business Operation in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has expanded its Government Communications Systems operations in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as a result of recent contract wins in the region.
- (1888PressRelease) February 10, 2012 - The expanded Harris operation will support numerous government customers, including those served by Harris IT Services, which is already located there.
The recent contract wins spurred the company to increase employment to more than 50 employees in two Harris facilities located at 4619 Foreign Trade Zone Boulevard and 8955A Drennan Road. The business also has expanded its subcontracting efforts with other companies in the region.
"Our Colorado Springs operation now provides end-to-end sustaining engineering capabilities, ranging from system maintenance and depot-level support to engineering design and development," said Sheldon Fox, group president, Harris Government Communications Systems. "This move consolidates several programs and initiatives based in Colorado so that we can better serve our U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army customers, and positions Harris for additional business opportunities in the area."
