Harrington College of Design Student Government Hosts Imagine 2010
Students host art auction to benefit charity.
- (1888PressRelease) October 28, 2010 - The Harrington College of Design Student Government (HCDSG) is proud to present the sixth annual Imagine community art auction on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted Street, Chicago, Ill. Art work of all skill levels, all sizes and all media will be on display, including: Prints, paintings, jewelry, pottery, sculptures, clothing, photography and graphics.
Imagine is a HCDSG-founded art auction , and this year, the proceeds from Imagine will benefit Design Industries Fighting Aids Foundation (DIFFA), one of the country's largest supporters of direct care for people living with HIV/AIDS and preventive education for those at risk.
"Imagine provides a tremendous opportunity for the Chicago design community to come together, while raising awareness and giving back to a worthy cause," said Erik Parks, president of Harrington.
Merging care and commerce, DIFFA supporters come from all fields of design and visual arts, including: Architecture, fashion design,interior design, photography, industrial design and consumer product design.
Prior to the event, all artwork will be collected and voted on by faculty and staff at Harrington to determine "Best in Show" in each category. All artwork will be on display during the event and the "Best in Show" pieces will be sold in an exciting, live auction. All other pieces will be sold in a silent auction. The event will take place at The Center on Halsted with a VIP reception beginning at 5 p.m. Please see below for complete event information:
