(1888PressRelease) February 23, 2010 - ATLANTA - Add Enotah Hall at Young Harris College in north Georgia to Hardin Construction Company's portfolio of LEED-certified projects.
Completed last summer, the $16 million, 62,500-square-foot residential facility was recently awarded LEED Silver certification by the Green Building Certification Institute, a third-party reviewer for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Enotah Hall is the first higher education building to achieve LEED Silver in North Georgia, and is one of only four residential facilities on Georgia college campuses to achieve this level of certification, according to USGBC.
"We congratulate the leadership of Young Harris College on this milestone accomplishment and for being such a forward-looking developer of its campus," said Hardin Chairman Brantley Barrow. "Hardin is honored to play a role in Young Harris' aggressive pursuit of sustainable design and construction opportunities."
Hardin Construction is also the general contractor for a 57,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Recreation and Fitness Center at Young Harris-a project that will also pursue LEED certification. Hardin Construction has completed more than 15 LEED certified projects, and has built more than five million square feet of facilities for higher education.
