Hansons Windows Announces 1st Quarter Earnings Increase From 2011

Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) April 07, 2012 - TROY, MI - Unseasonably warm weather and an overall uptick in the economy are partly responsible for a first quarter earnings increase from 2011 announced today by Hansons Windows, the home improvement company serving Michigan and Ohio since 1988.

The upper Midwest enjoyed temperatures as high as the low-80s in March, which was a record-setting month for warmth, according to various meteorologist societies and organizations. January and February also saw higher than normal temps.

The early arrival of spring-like weather tends to put consumers in a home improvement frame of mind, says Hansons Windows President Brian Elias.

"Our crews were much busier than they were at this time last year," Elias said.

But Elias maintains that the strong first quarter numbers won't lead to complacency within his ranks.

"Customer service, quality installation, follow up-those will always be priorities," Elias said. "We won't let a good start to the year lull us. In fact, it will make us work even harder so we can have a strong year, not just a strong quarter."

Hansons Windows has leveraged the good weather with strong promotions that have included free passes to events like Disney On Ice and venues such as Splash Universe, along with giveaways of items such as mini MP3 players and the iPad Touch.

Elias added that the strong start to 2012 has resulted in more confident employees and better morale, as they see the crews briskly rolling in months that had been "challenging."
