Hannibal the African movie announced
Proteus Films, a motion picture production company, announced today that it's going into production for a bio-epic based on the life of Hannibal, son of Hamilcar Barca, the Carthaginian General. The film will be directed by Ken Sibanda, also the author of the science-fiction novel, The Return To Gibraltar.

Speaking from his office, Ken Sibanda said, " The film we are making is not about one moment, it is about the total influence of the man." Sibanda directed the short film "The Triangle." And is also the author of the acclaimed poetry book, "The Songs of Soweto: poems From A Post-Apartheid South Africa."
Asked as who the company would like to see in the title role, Sibanda said, "Will Smith, Vin Diesel, Denzel Washington, Terence Howard, Idris Elba and Djimon Hounsou," were all good contenders. "But essentially, what we want is a good script that will tell a solid story."
Sibanda also holds law degrees from the University of London and a Masters from Temple school of law in Trial Advocacy. He honed his craft directing auto commercials in the States and working for Quintet Productions in South Africa.
