Half of Competitive Intelligence Software Investments in North America will Focus on Microsoft SharePoint in 2014-2015
Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA), a market intelligence advisory company, predicts that half of all competitive intelligence software investments in 2014-2015 in North America will be geared towards SharePoint based products.
- (1888PressRelease) March 28, 2014 - Large corporations with Microsoft SharePoint web application platforms have been standardizing their software suites under SharePoint.
With a Microsoft Office-like interface, SharePoint comprises a multipurpose set of web technologies backed by a common technical infrastructure and is today, used by four out of five Fortune 500 companies. The Intelligence PlazaŽ software by GIA is a competitive intelligence software that is used by global companies such as DHL, BASF, Bosch, KONE and Philips Healthcare to serve over 40,000 business users around the world. GIA recently released a SharePoint-based Intelligence PlazaŽ application to respond to the strong market demand for SharePoint based competitive intelligence products.
"There has been a distinct shift by North American companies towards SharePoint, when acquiring competitive intelligence software. This seems to be the case for both new installations, as well as replacement investments. It really isn't a surprise given the dominance of SharePoint as a corporate intranet platform, as is the case in the Fortune 500 segment. At GIA, we are in a good position in regards to this development, as our competitive intelligence software, Intelligence PlazaŽ, operates in both SharePoint and non-SharePoint environments", says Jouko Virtanen President, GIA North America.
GIA launched their SharePoint Intelligence PlazaŽ in 2013, in anticipation that corporations will require their intelligence applications to run in SharePoint, not just through integrated feeds or simple SharePoint sites, as many vendors prefer to position their tools, but as an actual SharePoint software product that is fully compatible with the corporate intranet platform.
Virtanen continued, "We want our customers to have a choice. They can choose between SharePoint products and non-SharePoint products, and don't have to build something internally, when an off-the-shelf SharePoint competitive intelligence software solution already exists."
GIA will showcase the SharePoint Intelligence PlazaŽ software at the 29th Annual SCIP International Conference and Exhibition between May 5 and May 8, 2014, in Orlando, Florida.
