CO2 laser skin resurfacing is an effective procedure for patients with lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation or superficial facial scars, such as acne scarring that does not respond to gentler treatments
Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) June 08, 2010 - Dr. Haitham Masri of announces the addition of the latest in laser skin treatments at his laser and cosmetic surgery facility, with clinics in Dearborn and Rochester, Michigan. Dr. Masri is proud to offer the breakthrough CO2 laser skin treatments.
"CO2 laser skin resurfacing is an effective procedure for patients with lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation or superficial facial scars, such as acne scarring that does not respond to gentler treatments," says Dr. Masri.
Haitham Masri, M.D. F.A.C.S. is the first Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon in Michigan and has over 20 years of experience in facial plastic and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Masri's extensive experience allows him to provide his patients with the best results possible even with patients who have darker skin types. With skin preparation before and after the laser CO2 procedure, Dr. Masri is able to deliver the best result without complications.
With this procedure, carbon dioxide or CO2 laser is used on a computerized scanning head to achieve tightening of the skin and eliminating deep creases, frown lines and other facial wrinkles. This will result in the growth of the deeper, more youthful skin as well as the shrinkage of the collagen fibers, the building blocks of the skin, resulting with a younger and smoother skin. It is a great treatment for deep acne scars. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia or under sedation, however for smaller areas like around the mouth or the eyelids, only local anesthesia is necessary.
This type of laser provides depth control, making the procedure much safer and reducing recovery time. The ideal candidate for laser skin resurfacing has elastic, oily skin that is not prone to scarring after minor injury. It is best that laser skin resurfacing be performed on a person who is free of any medical problems that may delay healing. Typically, down time with CO2 laser skin resurfacing is up to 1 week, with redness which can be covered with makeup for no more than 4 weeks afterwards.
