H2OMitt Being Manufactured at Strouse
Brennan Lake contracts with The Strouse Corporation to produce a new waterproof bandage, the H20Mitt for stoma patients.
- (1888PressRelease) December 16, 2011 - Westminster, Maryland - While working with the inventor of this unique concept, Strouse offered design assistance, material sourcing and engineered this pouch-based, waterproof device. The manufacture of three separate web components is combined during a single inline process to create the H20MITT.
Use of a temporary catheter connected to the central venus vein can present a problem to keep moisture-free. It is susceptible to infection from even trace amounts of moisture. The challenge was to create a dry, sterile and secure environment for the connectors and tubes that met rigorous medical standards, yet provide functionality when maintaining hygiene. The die cut adhesive bandage creates a flexible, sealed area that surrounds the stoma and the catheter components are secured within the attached pouch.
Branding and directions for use are printed on the adhesive's die cut liner. This product offers a reliable substitute for homemade remedies. This is a single use device and is convenient for the end user to apply and remove.
