Guru Grow Lights Sixth Generation of LED Grow Lights Is Ready to Ship
Guru Grow Lights has spent the last two years extensively researching LED grow lights and their use in growing plants. They have gone through six generations of LED grow lights. Here it is described what makes Guru Grow Lights different from other LED grow light manufactures and why they beat out HPS grow lights.
- (1888PressRelease) November 12, 2011 - In the agricultural and hydroponics market plants have traditionally been grown using HPS grow lights. Within the last decade however a new contender has emerged, LED grow lights. At first it appeared LED grow lights did not work. That however is because the first lights were poorly researched and how they actually grew plants was not understood very well. Guru Grow Lights stepped onto the scene in 2009. Before they even started designing their light they learned all about what makes plants grow. They did this through UBC academic journal. After that it was time for prototyping.
Guru Grow Lights (http://www.gurugrowlights.com) first prototype was a 60W LED grow light using only two different wavelengths of light. They then started manufacturing their 120W LED grow light which had four different wavelengths of light (deep red, red, blue, and deep blue). The initial lights used 3W LEDs but they soon realized the enormous energy savings of using 1W LEDs instead. After that they started playing around with wavelengths and six iterations latter have arrived at what may be the optimal combination of light for use in growing plants.
