Gulder Ultimate Search 8 Champions Embark on Road Show, To Visit 6 States

- (1888PressRelease) February 09, 2012 - The 10 Champions that emerged from Gulder Ultimate Search 8, concluded last year, will be embarking on a tour of six Nigerian States. The eighth season of the foremost reality television show was aired on Nigerian TV stations from September 11 to December 11, 2011; with Christopher Okagbue, emerging the winner.
The tour, tagged 'Gulder Ultimate Search 8 Road Show', will see the Champions travelling to Oyo, Edo, Delta, Anambra, Rivers and Lagos states. During the tour, the contestants are expected to pay courtesy visits to the host state governors, key traditional rulers and other important dignitaries. The Champions will visit important landmark sites in each of the states. They will also make guest appearances at selected radio stations; which will afford the ardent lovers of the reality TV show the opportunity of interacting with the champions via call-in programmes.
Christopher Okagbue, the reigning 'Ultimate Man' will be joined on the tour by Anastasia Azike, the last female contestant standing and Kevin Durst, who was joint first runner-up. Other Champions who will be on the tour are: Anthony Igwe, Fejiro Ejogbamu, Tony Horsfall, Promise Ojiegbe, Sunday Gyang, Olanrewaju Alawoki and Patience Ihongbe.
Ace actor and co-anchor of Gulder Ultimate Search 8, Bob Manuel Udokwu, will be leading the Champions in their tour of the various states.
Mr. Tony Agenmonmen, Marketing Manager - Lager, Nigerian Breweries Plc said: "The Gulder Ultimate Search Road Show can be described as an extension of the reality TV programme itself. It has been a part of the show since it commenced in 2004. Questions have been raised as to why we embark on the Road Show. Firstly, it is a homecoming of sorts, for the contestants. The states we plan to cover during the tour are the states of origin of the various contestants. It will afford the Champions an opportunity of interacting with their state governors, governors of other states, learning about different cultures and traditions, paying visits to important historical sites and so on."
Speaking on the other benefits, Mr. Agenmonmen stated: "It is an opportunity to keep the Champions in the consciousness of the lovers of the show. Gulder Ultimate Search 8, which featured these Champions, ended on December 11, last year. Lovers of the show can also interact with them as they will be featured on call-in programmes of several radio stations."
The Road Show which kicks off on Monday February 13, will end in Lagos on Saturday, March 3, 2012, with an Ultimate Party, staged in honour of the contestants.
Gulder Ultimate Search is Nigeria's first 100 per cent reality TV programme, which was first aired on TV airwaves in 2004. It has been staged in various Nigerian states yearly, since then.
The format for last year's edition was changed, with the number of contestants increased to 30, and they entered the jungle in three batches of 10 contestants each. Viewers also had the opportunity of voting back in one evicted contestant from each of the groups.
Gulder Ultimate Search 8 contestants were camped at the undulating plains and plateau of the Egbetua Quarters Ososo Mountains in Akoko Edo, Edo State.
