Guitar It Up For Girls is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2012 Guitar It Up for Girls Scholarship at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA.

The winner not only received the prestigious title of being the 2012 Guitar It Up for Girls Scholarship winner, but also received a Luna electric guitar from the company and tuition support towards her tuition at the Musicians Institute. All applicants considered for the awards were evaluated on the criteria of demonstrating outstanding musicianship, band performance skills and originality in any musical genre. The scholarship was awarded to a talented and high-achieving female guitarist currently enrolled at Musicians Institute.
The winner, Liangliang Lu, is a student at Musicians Institute. Originally from Qingdao Shi, Shandong, China, she has seven years experience playing pop, rock and blues and is determined to serve as an inspiration for girls and women worldwide who play music. "I know that I want to play music everyday in my life, and to be a better musician no matter what," says Lu. With this scholarship, she is one step closer to achieving that dream.
